"Wall Street Journal":"U.S. officials considered conducting a covert mission inside Iran to retrieve or destroy a stealth drone that crashed late last week, but ultimately concluded such a secret operation wasn't worth the risk of provoking a more explosive clash with Tehran, a U.S. official said. "No one warmed up to the option of recovering it or destroying it because of the potential it could become a larger incident," the U.S. official said. If an assault team entered the country to recover or destroy the drone, the official said, the U.S. "could be accused of an act of war" by the Iranian government.
# Akhirnya...kisah ni mengingatkan aku pada kegiatan pengintipan US keatas negara Kesatuan Soviet satu ketika dahulu. Menggunakan pesawat pengintip termaju mereka pada masa itu iaitu U-2, akhirnya pada 1 Mei 1960 pesawat U-2 yang dipandu oleh Francis Gary Powers ditembak dengan peluru berpandu SA-2 Soviet (peluru berpandu yg baru dicipta), beliau ditawan dan pesawat pengintip U-2 beliau tidak sempat untuk diaktifkan mekanisme "hapus diri"..(standard operasi US, bila mesin perang mereka ditawan). Kalau nak tengok bagaimana ataupun tinggi mana pesawat U-2 ini beroperasi? Sila la layan video dibawah.....memang menarik!!!
